The New York Law Journal has reported that Kristen Gibbons Feden, head of the sexual abuse survivor department at Anapol Weiss, and Mike Della, a partner at Gruenberg Kelly Della, won “a string of six verdicts in just one week—totaling $157 million in damages—against a former Long Island pediatrician accused of serial sexual abuse against children spanning decades.”
The New York Law Journal quotes Feden as noting that the amounts awarded make their clients feel seen:
“It’s not just the number, it’s the feeling of validation. Particularly when you get an award, regardless of the amount, it’s someone saying ‘We heard you, and you were wronged,’ and that provides a lot of validation.”
