Electrical hazards lurk everywhere in your home

Have you ever wondered about the potential electrical and fire dangers lurking in your home? According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 400 people are electrocuted in the United States every year. An additional 500 lives are claimed and nearly $1.6 billion in property damage is caused by electrically-related fires and flammable products.

TVs blamed for house fires

An import company has apologized for a series of Australia house fires started by one of its television brands. One of the fires left behind a damage of more than $100,000. Fire investigators found a fault in a Loewe TV to be the cause. International Dynamics chairman Alex Encel said there was a product recall last month.
