A Houston woman's 9-year-old son is on life support. She said her doctor should've warned her about the dangers of Paxil. She stopped taking the antidepressant a few months before the FDA and GlaxoSmithKline issued a warning for pregnant women. She now has a Paxil lawyer and has filed a lawsuit against her doctor and GlaxoSmithKline. The woman wants the parties to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in mounting medical bills. The baby turns blue, has seizures, takes excessive amounts of medication, has undergone heart surgery, and has been rushed to emergency care on too many occasions - all allegedly from a pregnant woman taking Paxil during her pregnancy.
The baby's prognosis is uncertain. There are an estimated 50 Paxil heart defect cases being reviewed around the country. (kHou)
