GlaxoSmithKline has now lost several lawsuits because it knowingly concealed years of negative information about the serious adverse reactions to Paxil. Hidden studies before many of the drugs were FDA approved reveals that pharmaceutical companies knew about all the problems and only allowed findings from positive clinical trials to become public. Yet a pamphlet, "Is Paxil addictive?" geared for doctors and patients reads, "Paxil has been studied both long and short term use and is not associated with dependence or addiction." Baby's Heart Defect / Mother Took Paxil While Pregnant

GlaxoSmithKline faces a lawsuit alleging an infant was born with a heart defect because his mother took Paxil during the first trimester of her pregnancy. The FDA has recently upped the warning from a category Co to a category D, warning pregnant mothers that taking Paxil more than doubles the risk of a heart defect in babies. (Market Watch)
