Michigan Politico Owned Big Share in Sexually Abusive Nursing Home

Richard DeVos is the first candidate for Governor in the last 60 years who refused to disclose the sources of his income and his actual holdings. One of the reasons could be that he owned 40 percent stock in the now bankrupt Alterra Nursing Homes that has been linked to sexual and physical nursing home abuse. According to the SEC, DeVos invested $173 million in the nursing home company which has been skirting federal laws and cutting corners for years.
