Who is Bausch & Lomb? According to their web page, www.bausch.com, Bausch & Lomb is the The Eye Health Company™. Bausch & Lomb was founded in 1853. The Company is now headquartered in Rochester, New York. Bausch & Lomb's 2004 revenues were $2.2 billion.

For a company with so much revenue, and thus so much to lose, why did Bausch & Lomb wait as long as 5 months before pulling their ReNu product off the shelves? Won't the impact on public trust outweigh any amount of money that they made in that short time? As a result of that mistake, Bausch&Lomb faces a series of lawsuits alleging that they permanently harmed the eye health of thousands of their customers! Is the answer as simple as greed, a matter of incompetence, or something else?
