Information on the Web About Intoxicated Driving
The Federal Department of Transportation does extensive yearly research on traffic safety topics, including impaired driving. This is the most recent fact sheet they’ve published with the results. For more detailed information about alcohol fatalities in 2005, including state information, this page is a good starting point.
Stop Impaired Driving
A public-relations campaign of the NHTSA, Stop Impaired Driving offers statistics, materials for the press and educational literature about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
This is the state agency that enforces liquor control laws, as well as gambling laws. It keeps useful statistics on compliance; serving a minor and serving a visibly intoxicated person are both in their top 10 most common violations.
The board maintains a long list of alcohol-related laws and penalties in Pennsylvania, including public drunkenness and operating watercraft while drunk, as well as DUI laws.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation maintains this page with basic information about the state’s new (as of 2003) tiered DUI system and the strict criminal penalties that could result from even your first DUI.
