The Latest DePuy Hip Recall News and Update

The DePuy ASR hip replacement system was recalled by the FDA in August 2010.

Yet, more than a year later, it seems like every month there is a new DePuy hip recall update being reported in the news.  This month has been no exception.

The FDA recall stands and has not recently been modified. However, litigation concerning the DePuy hip replacement is ongoing and much of the DePuy hip recall news concerns updates about that litigation. This month, notices of deposition were issued for several DePuy Orthopedic executives. The notices mean that the executives will need to answer questions, under oath, as part of the Depuy hip recall lawsuit.

Even though it has been 17 months since the DePuy hip recall was issued by the FDA, news of the DePuy hip recall will continue to break as long as people are getting hurt and lawsuits continue.
