heparin recall

What is the China connection to heparin? How did the FDA fail regulating heparin?

Who’s minding the store? How is it that drugs or ingredients in drugs are being made in China but not inspected or regulated by the FDA?

Do you have a heparin recall lawsuit?

Why a multi-million dollar pharmaceutical company like Baxter Healthcare who considers itself a leader in the field for the past 75 years has an unregulated Chinese company manufacture the prime ingredient for the life-giving blood thinner heparin?

Heparin has been linked to four deaths and 350 serious adverse reactions in a relatively short time span.

The Chinese plant that makes the active ingredient for heparin has no drug certification. Heparin’s prime ingredient is pig’s intestines. Without a drug certification, the Chinese equivalent to the FDA didn’t inspect the product. Isn’t anyone (quality control?) looking at the paperwork?

The U.S. FDA didn’t inspect the Chinese manufacturer before permitting it to become the biggest supplier of heparin in the United States. Think about an unregulated plant anywhere whether in the United State or China manufacturing products from pig intestines.

But more importantly, wouldn’t Baxter Healthcare quality control and management want to have a record that their products and ingredients have passed inspection especially if the prime ingredient IS from pigs?

How can a trusted leader in medication and the governing body of food and drug administration turn a blind eye to medications from China especially with all the health and well being problems that have incurred this past year because of Chinese made products?

Someone must be held responsible!
