Non Military Wrongful Deaths: DynCorp International, CSC

Defense Base Act Attorneys

DynCorp International is a private military contractor (PMC) and aircraft maintenance company headquartered in Virginia but with major operations in Texas. DynCorp receives more than 96 percent of its billions of dollars in annual revenues from the federal government.

In 2003, DynCorp and its subsidiaries were acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) for approximately $914 million.

Like other private military contractors employing non military personnel, DynCorp is not without controversy involving sex slaves, prostitutes, misuse of equipment, and overbilling and mismanagement of money.

For instance in 2008, a panel of whistleblowers testified that a DynCorp manager was misusing the company's armored car to transport prostitutes to a hotel when a DynCorp contractor was assigned to a high risk task. The non military contractor should have been assigned the armored car but was forced to use a regular vehicle. It is believed that had he been riding in the armored car, he would've survived the attack.
