Recently, Delta Enterprise has voluntarily recalled a number of their cribs. As a parent, you want to keep your child safe, but with so many model numbers being recalled it can be hard to figure out whether or not the crib you own is involved with the recall. Here’s a brief guide to all of the Delta Enterprise cribs recalled due to the most recent hardware problems.
First, a group of Delta cribs manufactured in Taiwan and Indonesia were recalled because the safety pegs holding the sides of the cribs were missing completely. The model numbers for these cribs can be found on the mattress support board. The following crib model numbers have been recalled:
| 4542 | 4550 | 4551 | 4580 | 4600 | 4620 | 4624 (production dates 01/06 thru 11/07) |
| 4640 | 4660 | 4720 | 4735 | 4742 | 4750 (production dates 01/95 thru 12/00) | |
| 4760 | 4770 | 4780 | 4790 | 4820 | 4840 | 4850 |
| 4860 | 4880 | 4890 | 4892 | 4900 | 4910 | 4920 |
| 4925-2 | 4925-6 | 4940 | 4943 | 4944 | 4947 | 4948 |
| 4949 | 4950 | 4958 | 4963 | 4968 | 4969 | 4980 |
All of these cribs were manufactured between 1995 and 2005 except model number 4624, which was manufactured in 2007. They were all sold between January 1995 and September 2007 at major retail locations throughout the United States, usually for around $100.
Unfortunately, the list doesn’t end here. A number of Delta Enterprise cribs manufactured in China were also recalled. These model numbers aren’t missing the pegs, but the spring peg that hold the sides in place are not made properly, and they could be pushed back, becoming disengaged. These cribs were all made between January 2000 and January 2007, and sold for between $33 and $200. The model numbers involved in this group are:
| 4340 | 4343 | 4520 | 4600 | 4620 | 4624 | 4625 |
| 4629 | 4660 | 4665 | 4720 | 4750 | 4751 | 4850 |
| 4855 | 4857 | 4880 | 4920 | 4925-2 | 4925-2B | 4925-6 |
| 4980 | 8605 |
Like with the other group, these cribs’ model numbers can all be found on the mattress support board.
Delta Enterprise has created a website (found here) specifically to help consumers lean about the problem and request a free repair kit. This is not the first time Delta Enterprise has been involved with a crib recall, as in the past, they’ve had problems with unsafe paint and other manufacturing defects. Although this company has been a leader in budget-friendly products for children, they prove that parents need to continuously stay up-to-date on recall information and injury reports for the items they purchase. Even though this company has created a number of safe, useful products for children, they’ve also manufactured products that could potentially be extremely dangerous for your child.
If your child has been injured due to a Delta Enterprise crib problem or a manufacturing problem with any other kind of baby item, it is important to talk to a defective crib lawyer right away. You and your child have rights, and by understanding them, you can help others from being injured, as well as pay for medical bills and replacement items.
