Construction Workers Hurt in South Florida

Two separate construction site accidents sent four workers to the hospital this past week. Three workers at Southwest 168th Avenue and Miramar Parkway suffered head and neck injuries after a drywall ceiling collapsed on them.

They were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Miramar. Authorities said they were unsure why the ceiling fell. City inspectors will investigate the site.

About five blocks down Miramar Parkway, a construction worker fell 30 feet in his bucket when his lift truck tipped over. The worker did not appear to have broken bones but complained of pains. He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. Investigators did not know what may have caused the truck to fall.
