What goes down must come up. A new crane was erected at the site of a deadly crane accident a few months ago. On November 16, a 210-foot tower crane built on the site collapsed killing a lawyer and causing millions of dollars of damage to surrounding businesses. The cause is under investigation but faulty footing is being blamed. Since the collapse, other Seattle cranes have been investigated which led to one taken down because it was found to have several cracks in it while another crane with a hairline crack was being repaired.
The new crane will be placed on a concrete foundation with anchor bolts to the concrete. The crane will be calibrated, tested, and certified prior to use
