Crane Collapse Kills Four: Where Was OSHA?

A U.S. Rep. claimed the men died because of OSHA's negligence plus the fact that Congress has been cutting back on worker safety laws and have abdicated their responsibility to conduct aggressive oversight.

After conducting its own investigation, OSHA issued four willful violations and proposed $280,000 in fines. Then OSHA announced it had struck a deal with Fru-Con who agreed to classify the violations as unclassified.

The politico ranted that OSHA had agreed to classify the violations as unclassified instead of willful.
