Trench Collapses - Work Injury

A worker was hospitalized part of the trench in which he was working collapsed at a restaurant construction site. The man was buried in dirt to his waist after a wall toppled shortly before 11 a.m., apparently because it hadn't been reinforced.

Co-workers removed the man before rescue crews could mobilize. The man was taken to the hospital. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The man was working for a plumbing company that has already been cited twice by OSHA

An investigation into the incident has begun, but the job site has not been shut down.
