Noncompliance: The material used in these seats does not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, Flammability of Interior Materials.
Corrective Action: Kolcraft will replace the material on these infant seats.

Noncompliance: In the event of a crash, the buckle may be difficult to release, making it harder to remove the child from the car seat. These seats do not comply with the buckle release force requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, Child Restraint Systems.
Corrective Action: Kolcraft will provide owners with installation instructions, a replacement buckle housing kit, and the tolls necessary to install the new buckle.

Model(s): Travel About, Plus 4, Plus 5, and Infant Rider (Models No. 138xx, 368xx manufactured from March 4 - April 30, July 17, July 25, and August 19, 1996), and Travel About, Plus 5 and Carter Travel 5 (Models 13833, 13842, and 13852 manufactured May 1 through September 30, 1996)

March 4 - September 30, 1996
Noncompliance: During compliance testing, a crotch strap assembly separated from the shell of an infant restraint. This does not comply with requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, Child Restraint Systems.
Corrective Action: Kolcraft will provide owner with instructions to examine the crotch strap retainer clip and for realigning the clip if it has been wrongly installed. A sticker will also be provided for installation on the child restraint notifying the user of the possibility of a misaligned strap retainer clip with simple instructions for its realignment.
