Models: Encore (44612 GTn and 4662 WSC 01); Bravo (44622 LTG, 44630 LTH, 44631 PFN, and 44662 WSC); Accel (45100 CHT, 45100 MTE, 45100 STH, 45200 LFT, 45200 MXM, 45600 JTI, 45600 MTE, 45600 MTO, 45600 MXM, 45600 SAF, 45700 GSD, and 45700 LFT); and Smartmove (44709 MTE and 44709 SVR).
Production Dates: Car seats shipped between April 9 and May 10, 2001
Defect: These seats are equipped with a central adjuster (A-Lok Adjuster) device which the consumer tightens the child seat harness straps on the child. In the event of a vehicle crash the webbing could slip 4 to 6 inches which would not adequately protect the seat occupant, possibly resulting in injury or death.
Corrective Action: Century will notify its customers and replace the seat free of charge.

Models: All rear-facing infant car seats/carriers - (Graco Children's Products, Inc.)
Production Dates:
January 1, 1991, - July 31, 1997
Defect: The handle can crack during normal use which can lead to an unexpected break. If the handle breaks, the child could fall to the ground possibly causing serious injuries.
Corrective Action: To prevent future cracking or failure of the child seat handle, Century will provide owners with an improved-design handle and installation instructions.

Model(s): Century Breverra Premiere and Contour Booster Car Seats
Production Dates:
February 1995 - July 10, 1998
Defect: This is not a safety child seat recall in accordance with Federal Regulation Part 573. However, it is deemed a product improvement campaign by the agency. The buckle for the harness system on these booster seats can crack or break.
Corrective Action: Century has decided to conduct a product improvement campaign to replace the buckle assembly. Century will provide a free replacement buckle kit and installation instructions.

Model(s): Infant car seats model Nos. 4525, 4535, 4560, 4565, 4575, 4590 and 4-in-1 car seat stroller systems model Nos. 11-570, 11-597, 11-600, and 11-650
Production Dates: September 12, 1995 - May 13, 1996
Defect: Due to poor assembly of the buckle assemblies, the buckles can release upon impact.
Corrective Action: Century will provide a free replacement buckle kit and installation instructions.

Model(s): Smartmove and Century 4750
Production Dates:
November 1995 - February 1996
Noncompliance: This child safety seat utilizes a latch assembly where a variation in the components resulted in the potential for a buckle to release. This does not conform to the dynamic testing requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, Child Restraint Systems.
Corrective Action: Century will provide a retrofit kit so owners can easily replace the latch assembly.
