Before we get down to Car, SUV, & ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) safety issues let us first understand the definition of basic terms.

Car
In the most accepted sense, a car or a motorcar refers to a wheeled passenger vehicle that carries its own internal combustion engine (mostly diesel or petrol) and is designed primarily to run on roads.

SUV
SUV, an acronym for Sports Utility Vehicle, is broadly defined as passenger vehicle that has a combination of the following features,
• the towing capacity of a pick-up truck
• the passenger carrying capacity of a station wagon
• off road capability

ATV
ATV is an acronym for All Terrain Vehicle. An ATV is an open motorized buggy designed for single operator off road use. ATVs are equipped with low-pressure soft tires.

Guidelines For Car, SUV, & ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) Safety

The United States Department of Transportation: Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has provided 10 tips for safe driving. In addition, FHWA in its Road Safety Fact Sheet has highlighted road safety issues in the US, the problems therein, and FHWA’s goal to reduce road fatalities. The fact sheet also outlines how FHWA has initiated actions to improve road safety through a multi pronged approach in the fields of engineering, education, enforcement, and coordination with law enforcing agencies. It is hoped that the above proactive stand will considerably improve Car, SUV, & ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) safety.
