Vehicle runs over beach goer

A Russian student who is working in the United States to earn money was run over by a Wildwood Beach Patrol vehicle while sunbathing at Wildwood Beach.

The woman sustained severe abrasions and bruising, had tire tracks on her arms and hip, and was unable to work for a week. The woman was reluctant to talk about the incident because she's in a foreign country and comes from a police state where nothing is ever blamed on the government.

Wildwood Beach personnel would not speak about the incident which is considered an accident because the woman's position on the beach was in the driver's blind spot. The driver was idling forward when surrounding sunbathers yelled for him to stop. He got out of the vehicle and saw the woman under it on her stomach. She had been sleeping and didn't notice the vehicle coming toward her until it was too late.

Pickup Truck and Motorcycle Collide in Philadelphia

A 39-year-old man and his 32-year-old female passenger were seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided head on with a pickup truck.

The man lost his left leg and his female friend has internal injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was treated for a dislocated shoulder.

A Guide To Car, SUV, & ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) Safety

Before we get down to Car, SUV, & ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) safety issues let us first understand the definition of basic terms.

Car
In the most accepted sense, a car or a motorcar refers to a wheeled passenger vehicle that carries its own internal combustion engine (mostly diesel or petrol) and is designed primarily to run on roads.

SUV
SUV, an acronym for Sports Utility Vehicle, is broadly defined as passenger vehicle that has a combination of the following features,
• the towing capacity of a pick-up truck
• the passenger carrying capacity of a station wagon
• off road capability

ATV
ATV is an acronym for All Terrain Vehicle. An ATV is an open motorized buggy designed for single operator off road use. ATVs are equipped with low-pressure soft tires.

Guidelines For Car, SUV, & ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) Safety

The United States Department of Transportation: Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has provided 10 tips for safe driving. In addition, FHWA in its Road Safety Fact Sheet has highlighted road safety issues in the US, the problems therein, and FHWA’s goal to reduce road fatalities. The fact sheet also outlines how FHWA has initiated actions to improve road safety through a multi pronged approach in the fields of engineering, education, enforcement, and coordination with law enforcing agencies. Yamaha Rhino Recall

It is true that the Yamaha Rhino is known for its excessive rollover risk. But, it is commendable that Yamaha opted to voluntarily pull the Rhino off the market (partially) in the form of a recall. While this is commendable it does not free Yamaha of liability. After all, they released a very dangerous product onto the market. Therefore, Yamaha will surely find itself on the receiving end off a number of lawsuits because it should have shown proper due diligence and realized that the Rhino possessed a severe rollover risk. As such, the pending lawsuits will surely force Yamaha's hand to be more careful in the future.

When All Terrain Vehicles first debuted on the market many years ago the popularity of these vehicles made them huge sellers. Motorcycle Helmets and Traumatic Brain Injuries

Probably one of the most common causes of a traumatic brain injury is a motorcycle accident. Or, more specifically, an accident in which the cyclist opted not to wear a helmet. Such injuries are incredibly troubling because they could have been avoided had the rider been wearing a helmet. So, it goes without saying that it would be a much wiser idea to always wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle. Of course, the wearer should have a reasonable expectation that the helmet is not defective. If a helmet has been purchased that is defective and a traumatic brain injury is the result then there may be the basis for a product liability lawsuit and seeking legal counsel would be wise.
