Tissue bank accreditation is based on how the tissue donor banks manage their operations as they pertain to retrieval, processing, storage, and/or distribution of tissue for tissue transplants.

The United Network for Organ Sharing helps make sure that donated organs are placed equitably. At any given time, there are over 90,000 people waiting for organ and tissue transplants.
