Stolen Body Parts
Stolen body parts are not an urban legend. Stolen cadaver bones are an unethical and illegal practice driven by financial greed. Hospitals and physicians unknowingly purchased and used stolen cadaver parts instead of legitimately tested human tissues and bones. Patients thought they were receiving healthy rejuvenating bones and tissues to ease their pain and fix injuries but instead may have received stolen body parts that are compromised by old age or communicable and infectious diseases. The thought of living with illegally harvested bones and tissues has caused extreme mental anguish to the patient recipients and their families. If that is not horrible enough, the grisly scam thrived by forging signatures and misrepresenting information that covered up where the stolen cadaver bones actually came; further causing anxiety about whose stolen body parts were invading their sense of well being. A horror movie this is not – the stolen cadaver bones scenario has happened to hundreds of people who are just waking up to this strange reality. And then there are the families of the deceased who thought they had buried or cremated their loved ones for peaceful eternity only to experience yet more heartbreak by finding out that even in death their loved ones must suffer from being silently and savagely ravaged for their stolen body parts. Scandals about stolen cadaver bones has been exposed at big ten universities and pharmaceutical companies. Researchers’ need for stolen body parts runs high. A cadaver and its parts could be worth as much as $200,000 depending on the age of the body. Consider stolen body parts as the new form of trafficking especially for children, teens, and young adults who disappear and their bodies are never found. |
