A group of British patients are considering legal action after they received transplants of human tissue allegedly stolen from mortuaries in the United States. Over 40 British patients received bone graft tissue which allegedly came from 1,000 corpses stolen from mortuaries. Patients received the tissues for hip replacements and jaw reconstruction from Plus Orthopaedics in Swindon England.In 2005, the New Jersey based Biomedical Tissue Services failed to properly screen tissue donors and forged documents of donation. The owner of Biomedical Tissue Services plus three others have pleaded not guilty to the charges. (Today)
