The most frequently used number for PENNDOT is the driver's licenses' customer service center. The number is toll free and is 1-800-932-4600. (This is also the general customer service number for all inquiries.) However, there are other customer service numbers availlable including numbers for out of state callers 1-717-412-5300; hearing impaired callers in state 1-800-228-0676; and hearing impaired callers out of state 1-717-412-5380 Also listed on the website are numbers for Pennsylvania Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance Program 1-800-265-0921 and for Reporting Roadway Concerns 1-800-FIX-ROAD.

Since we are in the computer age, email is also a common way to contact different departments of PENNDOT. In order to email PENNDOT, you will need to fill out the onscreen forms provided at PENNDOT's website. In particular, there are three general heading categories where you can email. These categories include Driver's License, Learner's Permit, or Photo ID Card Questions; Motor Vehicle Questions; and Apportioned Registration Questions. Keep in mind, responses may take up to two business days as emailed questions, concerns, and queries are responded in the order in which they are received.
