Any "snail mail" correspondence can be directed to this address. However, it is important to note here that NJDOT receives an enormous volume of mail on a daily basis. As such, response time to inquiries could take several business days.

For quicker processing you may wish to send NJDOT an email. Again, the volume of email that NJDOT receives is high but the processing is much quicker and more streamlined.

For Motor Vehicle Services, the general customer service number is 1-888-486-3339 (in state) or 609-984-7294 (out of state) or, for the hearing impaired, 609-292-5120.

For maintenance issues such as malfunctioning traffic signals and potholes, direct calls to 1-800-POTHOLE. (Please note: if you have a pothole damage claim you must call 609-984-7294.

For those who have questions concerning E-Z pass, the toll free number is 1-888-288-6865.
