West Virginia Asbestos Litigation Reform Efforts ??

The companies who have harmed the public with Asbestos are seeking help from the VA Legislature.

Accordingly, the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is calling on state leaders to continue what it calls the state's economic resurgence by focusing efforts on seven key solutions in 2007.

One of the solutions is that West Virginia needs to enact reforms that will stem the tidal wave of asbestos and silica mass litigation and ensure that injured individuals are diagnosed based on established medical criteria and by an attending physician," the statement reads. These reforms will help to unclog the system for those who are truly impaired or injured.

Canadians Probe Asbestos Insulation Exposure

Facing several lawsuits across Canada, the Canadian federal government plans to find out how people use their attics to help determine potential exposure to asbestos-tainted insulation. The research is needed because little is known about how Canadians are exposed to the insulation in their homes.
The government wants to establish typical insulation exposure scenarios for Canadians who live in homes that might contain asbestos insulation.
