The NHTSA is recalling 57,100 Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent cars that are not equipped with optional roof rail airbag systems or sunroofs that fail to comply with federal rules that require occupant protection in interior impact which is an increased risk for head injury. Both Pontiac and Chevy dealers (General Motors) will install a new part effective January 2008. There will be no charge for the foam or the installation.
