Mark J. LeWinter, a Shareholder of Anapol Schwartz, is known for his ability to convey complicated engineering principles to a jury both clearly and effectively.
His approach to the presentation and use of evidence, particularly exhibits and other items used at trial, has earned him an excellent reputation among his peers. Mr. LeWinter’s preparation and attention to detail have resulted in many large verdicts and settlements. For more than 30 years he has been successful in the handling of product liability and workplace safety cases. He has received a 14 million dollar verdict in a workplace safety case in Delaware for an injured worker was catastrophically injured where required safety practices were not followed, a 19 million dollar settlement for a 27 year old ironworker who was rendered quadriplegic due to a fall and numerous other seven figure verdicts and settlements against manufacturer’s of unsafe products where safe design principles were not followed.
A frequent lecturer on trial skills and products liability issues as well as the use of demonstrative evidence and technology in the courtroom, Mr. LeWinter has lectured for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America having participated in over 100 continuing legal education seminars over the past 20 years. This year Mark was named a "Superlawyer" by Philadelphia Magazine, based on a statewide poll of lawyers and was named one the top 100 lawyers in Philadelphia. He has also received an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubble.
In 1978, Mr. LeWinter earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. He received his law degree from Capital University Law School in 1981. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mr. LeWinter is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. He is also currently serving as President of the Pennsylvania Eastern Chapter of ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates) and has recently been elected to serve as an ABOTA National Board Member.
Mr. LeWinter is also an accomplished magician and has been a volunteer performer at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Oncology clinic and other local hospitals for over 15 years. He has written numerous articles and lectured on Courtroom Magic where he instructs litigators on how they can integrate and apply the constructs of magic theory in the courtroom.
