Proving Damages in Personal Injury and Death Cases
PHILADELPHIA, PA - January 3, 2005 - Anapol Schwartz Weiss Cohan Feldman and Smalley, P.C. (Anapol Schwartz) attorney recently spoke at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's conference on civil litigation. The conference, entitled "Proving Damages in Personal Injury and Death Cases," focused on the damage component of the personal injury program. The firm spoke on maximizing damages for the loss of life's pleasures, embarrassment, humiliation, scarring, disfigurement and loss of consortium losses.
The program highlighted what attorneys need to understand about evaluating damages before taking a case. It also provided information on how to use experts and other tools to prove damages, when it is possible to recover punitive and other non-compensatory damages, how insurance issues affect damages recovery and how to best present damages evidence to the fact finder.
